by Chris on Jan.29, 2009, under Announcements, Blogging, Klingon, N810, tlhIngan Hol
My Klingon PADD theme has been uploaded to the Maemo extras repository. It can be installed on a NIT by going to http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2008/qurgh-complete/ on the device and clicking on install.
Feedback is greatly appreciated. Qapla’!
Klingon theme for S2U2
by Chris on Jan.27, 2009, under Announcements, Blogging, Klingon, Mobile, tlhIngan Hol
I have created a Klingon theme for S2U2, a slide2unlock app for Windows mobile devices.
The pIqaD numbers are correct and actually work really well for the clock. You can get S2U2 from the S2U2 Homepage. Once it’s installed the theme can override the S2U2 graphics files.
Download Klingon.zip (For QVGA devices (240×320))
Download KlingonVGA.zip (For VGA devices (480×640))
You’ll need to make sure these S2U2 settings are right:
Date Format: Option 1
Time Format: Option 1
Clock Font Folder: clock\
Checkout this thread over at The Klingon Empire forum for full instructions.

Klingon PADD theme version 2 released
by Chris on Jan.26, 2009, under Blogging
I have just finished updating my Klingon PADD theme for the LCARS 4.3 framework.
The new debs have been uploaded to the Maemo garage (https://garage.maemo.org/projects/klingonpadd/) and should be heading into the extras repo in the next 24 hours. This version doesn’t really update much, except for making the packages more compatible. I have added a Klingon dictionary search plugin for the desktop search bar though, so no more trying to find your TKD.
Here’s a screenshot of how it looks now:

wejDIch Wednesday #tlh #kli
by Chris on Jan.19, 2009, under Blogging, Klingon, tlhIngan Hol
This Wednesday will be the first wejDIch WeDneSDay of 2009. wejDIch weDneSDay happens on the third Wednesday of each month. During those twenty four hours all my twitter and blog posts will be in tlhIngan Hol (Klingon language) without any translations . This gives me a good excuse to practice my tlhIngan Hol and have fun too.
All my tlhIngan Hol tweets will contain the #tlh hashtag so they can be found easily on search.twitter.com. I’ll be using the #kli hashtag for Klingon related stuff that’s in English.
Feel free to join in with wejDIch weDneSDay and make your own Klingon posts. I know that @roneyii will be participating, and hopefully others will take part too.

Twitter and some Klingon…
by Chris on Jan.09, 2009, under Blogging
I’ve been using Twitter more and more over the past couple of months, so I thought I’d post about it here.
Twitter is a blogging site that only allows short messages, normally in the form of an answer to the question, “What are you doing?”. I’ve been using it to practice my foreign languages, as well as to keep in touch with friends. If you haven’t seen it yet, I suggest checking it out, and if you sign up, make sure you follow me!
I have also setup a daily Klingon language word on twitter, that posts a random Klingon word each day. If you have an interest in the language, and want to expand your vocabulary, I suggest checking it out (and it’s one more reason you should be on twitter!).
